Mendel University in Brno is a public institution with a long tradition of excellence in teaching and research; that has driven new ways of thinking since 1919 and proudly bears the name of J. G. Mendel, the founder of modern genetics. There are over 8,300 students at the university, including 5,500 undergraduates and 2,800 postgraduates. Mendel University offers more than 100 different graduate degree programs.

The university logo refers to genetic experiments carried out by J. G. Mendel. The logo is built around the green pea that this world-famous scientist used for his experiments. The variable and responsive system of the branding offers solutions for creating logos for individual faculties, research centers and other departments of the university.
