Prague Spring Music Festival 2017–2019

visual identity / communication campaign / catalogues / print materials / digital / motion design

The Prague Spring International Music Festival began in 1946 and is an annual showcase of outstanding world music artists, symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles. Since its inception, it has been held during spring and showcases world music culture and the latest trends in classical music. The aim of the 2017–2019 campaign was to present the festival as a unique musical event that sets trends in the promotion of classical music. The brief was to design a fresh, bold, emotive visual style that was clear to an international target group.

We prepared a three-year communication concept named "Musica Magica", which presented the festival through symbols of spring: songbirds, insects and flowers. The graphic design was inspired by the world-famous tradition of Czech surrealism by combining motifs of spring and musical instruments, which distinguishes the new visual style of the festival from campaigns over previous years.

Thanks to the huge positive response and public interest in the new campaign, the Prague Spring decided for the first time in its history to sell a series of posters, postcards, bags and other promotional items.

Role in the project: creative director, design supervisor, graphic designer.
Created for Dynamo.
