Nejen Bistro

branding / logo / visual identity / design guideline / print materials / interior design

The Nejen Bistro (Not Only Bistro) is located on Karlin Square in Prague. It offers fresh seasonal dishes, specialties from the unique JOSPER grill along with wine and craft beers. The bistro excels in its unique and award-winning gastronomy. As the name suggests, it is not just a daily bistro, in the evening it becomes a wine bar.

The name conveys the change from bistro to wine bar, as the term “nejen” is a palindrome; a word which reads the same backwards as it does forwards without changing its meaning, which was a great basis for design. The principle of flipping and mirroring was the basis for the typographic solution of the logotype and the inverted letters also became a characteristic graphic element of the visual identity of The Nejen Bistro.

Role in the project: co-author, creative director, design supervisor.
